We are recruiting for an experienced Finance Manager to join a fast growing p/e backed company within engineering services. Our client is a market leader in their field, employing 6,000 people in 30 counties and supporting some of the largest and most complex engineering companies across the world. Due to growth they now require an additional Finance Manager to join the team and take responsibility for a group of business units operating in the south west.
Day to day you will be responsible for overseeing the financial reporting process and maintaining stringent control measures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data. You will play a key role in the preparation of monthly financial statements, providing insightful analysis that will inform strategic decision-making across the organization. You will collaborate closely with various teams to become a true Finance Business Partner, to streamline processes and enhance reporting accuracy.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare profit and loss statements and monthly closing and cost accounting reports
- Compile and analyse financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and document business transactions
- Assist with the establishment, maintaining, and coordinating the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures
- Analyse and review budgets and expenditures for business units
- Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness
- Prepare and review, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting documents
- Analyse revenue and expenditure trends
- Resolve accounting discrepancies
- Prepare and manage external statutory audit and financial statements
- VAT
- Assist with cashflow management and reporting
- Prepare and submit results into group reporting package
- Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring all financial data is recorded accurately and promptly
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial information
- Analyse financial results and provide insights and recommendations to senior management
- Prepare financial reports for various stakeholders, including management, regulatory bodies, and investors
- Ensure closing for certain legal entities with proactive involvement in management accountant duties/tasks
Essential Skills
- Ability to prioritise and schedule work
- Able to communicate at all levels.
- Confident to work with other senior managers and proactively look to improve process/control and governance to drive efficiency
- Looking to progress and be proactive in driving the finance function both within the team and within the business
- PQ, Qualified through experience, or Qualified Accountant
- Good Excel skills
