Our client is a global IT services company operating in 60 countries across the world with a workforce of 9,500 people. We are delighted to be supporting them with the recruitment of a Head of IT Audit position to be based remotely in the UK. This is an exciting role to take a greenfield site and to build the function into an impactful department with an appetite for innovation and delivery an effective IT audit function globally.
Given the global nature of the company there is a travel element of up to 20% per year and this can entail spending a week or more away at times. The wider internal audit team this year past year have travelled to Mexico, Germany, India and Colombia and this will be reflective of travel for this position in the years to come, the successful candidate must be happy and flexible to travel.
What to expect in the role;
- Develop and execute the IT internal audit strategy in line with the company’s overall objectives.
- Lead the IT internal audit function, including the development, delivery, and reporting of the annual IT audit plan, covering ITGCs, process audits (e.g., data, AI, cyber), and integrated audits with the FinOps IA team.
- Track and analyse KPIs to measure audit performance and effectiveness.
- Manage, mentor, and develop team members to build a high-performing audit team.
- Stay updated on IT audit trends and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure best practices.
- Identify key risks and ensure that the IT environment operates efficiently and securely.
- Utilise data analytics, including continuous monitoring, to assess and mitigate key risks.
Experience and Skills required;
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience of IT Audit with a mix of consulting and industry.
- International experience.
- Data interrogation and visualisation skills.
- Effective presentation, communication, and persuasion skills.
- Self-starter and hands-on.
- Degree in Computer Science, IT, Accounting, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as CIA, CISA, CISM, CISSP, or CRISC.
- Extensive experience in technology auditing and information technology, including IT general controls.
- Strong knowledge of current security and control frameworks and standards – NIST, ITIL, COBIT.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Tech sector experience is a plus.
