Our client is a leading firm of chartered accountant and business advisors in the UK, acting for clients across a variety of sectors in the UK. The firm is seeking to recruit an experienced Corporate Tax Director to assist with developing the corporate tax offering in Scotland as well as helping existing clients with corporate tax matters, such as tax advisory and transaction services, corporate tax compliance and reporting obligations.
The Job
In this role, the successful candidate will regularly navigate complex technical issues and can expect their responsibilities to include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Developing strong client relationships and identifying new business opportunities, with the support of the Head of Department and other senior staff.
- Taking overall responsibility and accountability for a portfolio of clients.
- Leading and managing client relationships effectively, with a focus on expanding services to existing clients and securing new business opportunities.
- Mentoring and developing Associate Directors and other team members, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Delivering exceptional client service while proactively managing and mitigating conduct risk.
- Contributing to the strategic and operational management of the department and/or office, where applicable.
- Collaborating with internal fee-earning partners to shape and implement our go-to-market strategy.
The Candidate
This position is ideally suited to a qualified professional (e.g. ACA, ACCA, or CTA) with several years of post-qualification experience in UK corporation tax.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Strong UK tax technical expertise;
- The ability to analyse complex tax queries and provide clear, practical advice and solutions;
- Proven project management skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and manage budgets effectively;
- A high standard of quality and accountability for their own work;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- A strong client focus, with a commitment to building and maintaining trusted client relationships;
- The ability to work collaboratively across different teams and service lines;
- Coaching and mentoring capabilities to support the development of junior team members.
