Cornerstone is one of Scotland’s largest social care charities and a leading provider of care for children, young people and adults with disabilities and additional support needs. As a member of the Cornerstone Team this role involves working with Cornerstone Central colleagues to ensure that Cornerstone Central delivers exceptional service which meets the needs of the wider organisation in an efficient, effective and customer focussed way.
A key focus of this role is to provide advice and guidance to Branch Leaders and their teams in relation to the financial performance of their allocated region. The role will also involve leading/participating in Cornerstone Central projects as required.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide advice and guidance to Branch Leaders and their teams on budgets and other financial matters.

Offer advice and guidance to managers in relation to finance processes.

Assist with the operation of effective financial systems within the organisation.

Monitor income and expenditure against budgets, on a monthly basis and investigate significant variances, posting adjustments where required.

Assist with the production of monthly management accounts.
-
Provide support to the Finance Lead, Head of Finance, Director of Finance and Fundraising as required.

Support the SLT and Branch Leaders in routine budget negotiations with local authorities and other customers with support from the Head of Finance and Fundraising or Finance Lead in more complex situations.

Provide financial information as required to the assigned Depute Directors and their teams.

Work flexibly as part of the Finance & Corporate Services team.

Assist with the ongoing review and improvement of the financial information and reports produced by the Finance Department.

Document and review finance procedures and related controls making recommendations for improvement as appropriate.

Prepare budgets for tenders and new projects in assigned Region(s).

Provide effective high quality financial support to the organisation.

Responsible for the compilation and maintenance of budgets for all operational activities in the assigned Region(s).

Compile schedules in line with internal and external audit requirements.

Ensure relevant and appropriate information is provided to the external auditor and assist in the production of annual accounts where required.

Provide financial training to branch leaders, service managers and team members
Candidate Requirements:

It’s desirable that you will have obtained at least one of the following, but we are more interested in your experience, your values and your attitude than we are your qualifications:

Honours Degree, Master’s Degree or Degree level professional qualification in a related discipline.

Finance qualification – AAT, ACCA, CA, CIMA, qualified by experience or part qualified.
