Overview:
Due to the continued growth and expansion of our client, there is an opportunity for a new Senior Financial Accountant to join the Global Finance team in Edinburgh.

A fantastic opportunity for an experienced accountant who has experience of preparing statutory accounts for complex organisations to join a growing global business and continue their career development and personal growth within a critical business function.
Responsibilities:

Provide high quality support to the Manager, Statutory Accounting and Compliance and Group Tax team as required

Preparation of the Group’s subsidiary statutory accounts for both Trading and Holding companies (as well as Dormant companies)

Preparation of extended trial balances from source systems and creation of detailed working files
-
Support of internal / external audit processes
-
Preparation of tax packs for internal and corporation tax purposes
-
Overall coordination of indirect tax return submissions i.e VAT, PSA, etc.

Support the Accounting team with month end and year end activities
-
Maintain documentation of key controls, processes, and procedures, ensuring robust control environment always operating

Involvement in new group systems testing and implementation
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate the following:

A relevant professional accountancy qualification (CA, ACA, ACCA, ACMA)

Strong technical accounting skills with knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP
-
Experience of statutory accounts preparation for complex organisations
-
Excellent understanding of VAT and the preparation of VAT returns is beneficial
-
Experience of improving processes and procedures in a dynamic environment
