Metier Peoples is delighted to be working in partnership with a independent Scottish chartered accountancy firm looking to appoint either a Corporate Finance Manager or Associate Director to be based in their Aberdeen office.

The job:

This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly regarded corporate finance team where you will work directly with senior management and the wider team to deliver to deliver Lead Advisory (M&A), Financial Due Diligence, Strategic Advisory, Valuations and Complex Financial Modelling assignments.  This is a unique opportunity to join a multidisciplinary, sector agnostic team which is offering the opportunity for continued development and progression within the firm.

Day to day you will be managing Corporate Finance projects with a significant level of client interaction and project management responsibility. It is important to the firm that you enjoy working closely with your clients to really understand their business needs and ensure they are provided with a personal and tailored service by not only yourself, but the wider team. Acting as a lead on assignments, you will be able to pull all aspects together through strong leadership and technical ability.  Preferably you will want to take part in the ongoing business development and participate in the continued growth of the team. Typically, the average deal size within the team varies between £5M-£20M.

The firm puts particular emphasis on the continued development of all staff and as part of the management team, you will take part in their mentorship programme. The programme offers you the opportunity to receive support from the senior management team in both your local office and wider network to provide soft skills development such as more effective client management and staff management.

The candidate:

  • Will be a qualified accountant (CA/ACA/ACCA or equivalent)

  • Demonstrate strong commercial acumen

  • Experienced corporate finance professional either at the Assistant Manager level looking to step up or at the Manager / Senior Manager level

  • Ideally you will have experience in a similar position or will have worked within Transactional Services, Due Diligence, Financial Modelling or Restructuring and looking to move to a firm where you will have the opportunity to work across a multidisciplinary, sector agnostic service line

  • Team player with a good work ethic and proactive approach

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
