Metier Peoples is delighted to bring to market two exciting Internal Audit opportunities. As a result of a restructure of risk, compliance and audit, our client, a large privately owned company in Glasgow, are expanding their Internal Audit function with the addition of an Internal Auditor and a Senior Internal Auditor.
The individuals will play a key role in the embedding of a developing Internal Audit function, as the company continues to diversify. Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit, the successful candidates will assist with the delivery of the annual audit plan – which will cover anything from finance and accounting to the operational side and everything in between. The individuals will work closely with key stakeholders across the Group.
These positions represent excellent career opportunities for ambitious and driven Internal / External Auditors or Accountants, who would like to develop their careers building a defined audit function within a “three lines of defence” model.
Duties:

Assist in the creation of risk-based audit programs

Perform and lead complex financial and operational audits

Identify internal controls issues and make suitable recommendations

Communication of audit findings and recommendations for improvement at the conclusion of audits with relevant business personnel

Follow up on audit findings and corrective actions, reporting on any corrective actions not effectively implemented

Support the Head of Internal Audit on ad hoc investigations

Contribute to the development of corporate governance activities, including ongoing development of risk management frameworks, audit methodologies and governance structures

Occasionally supervise and support the work of guest auditors or third-party consultants engaged to support the delivery of an internal audit review or project
Key candidate requirements are as follows:

We are ideally looking for qualified auditors or accountant (ICAS, IIA, CIMA, ACCA,) with experience of supervising audit assignments in large organisations (ideally within relevant industries, e.g. FMCG, Manufacturing, Wholesale, Logistics, Distribution). However, part qualified and qualified by experience professionals will be considered, as will experience obtained within a financial service setting.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to quickly build good relationships and help grow a positive audit culture across the organisation.

Genuine curiosity and mental agility to be able to quickly get under the skin of the business, ask the right questions and spot potential risks or opportunities.

Solid IT skills, with advanced skills in MS Office
